Mine Bones is an app dealing with osteoporosis, also called fragility, through which healthcare and relevant information about osteoporosis is disseminated, including medical treatment, diet and exercise. The purpose of the app is to provide a better understanding of the disease as well as provide information on treatment and prevention of fractures in order to increase self-care and make living with the disease easier for the individual.How to use the app?KnowledgeIn the app there are various articles about osteoporosis. The articles are continuously updated with the latest knowledge about osteoporosis, medical treatment, bone-friendly diet and exercise.Bone accountOnce you have created a user, you will access My Bone Account where you can see your osteoporosis test, also called OSAIA Hexagon ®, where you can screen yourself based on 6 questions where you have to evaluate yourself, and help you to get an overview of how you manage your osteoporosis based on the factors that have the greatest importance for bone health.Lime calculatorIn the app, there is a calcium calculator, where the user can enter his food and get a calculation of the intake of calcium through the diet and get help to assess whether there is a need to supplement with a dietary supplement.DXA scansDuring DXA, the user can input their bone scan results and understand and follow the progression of their osteoporosis. In addition, it is possible to see where the result of the scan lies in relation to others of the same gender and age.Medicine diaryUnder medication, you have the option to track your own medication and set an alarm when you need to remember to take your medication.Osteoporosis courseIn the app, you have the option of booking a free consultation with an osteoporosis advisor at OSAIA, where you will go through your osteoporosis test together and see if a course at OSAIA is for you. As part of the course, you will cover topics such as medicine, diet, exercise, calcium intake, etcAs part of the course, you will be assigned your osteoporosis advisor, have a tailored plan made based on your needs and have the opportunity to write with your advisor when you need it.Please note that the app is not a treatment tool and that the responsibility for treatment lies with the attending physician. If you have any questions about your treatment, talk to your doctor.What do users say?In the period September 2021 to September 2022, the app has been pilot tested together with the Danish Health Authority. 100 patients have participated in the evaluation of the app and they say:"With the app, I feel that I have help at hand. The app is then pilot tested and evaluated in collaboration with the Danish Health Authority. Articles and exercises on bone-friendly training have been prepared in collaboration with the Knowledge Center for Bone Health.
